A workshop exploring the intersection of print and moving image, where the Risograph becomes a tool for embracing imperfection and unpredictability as part of the creative process. Starting from still images, participants will create a short frame-by-frame animation, experimenting with how colour overlays, misregistration and the distinctive textures of Risograph printing can become expressive visual elements. Throughout the process, control gives way to surprise, leading to unique and often unexpected results.

What will you learn?
The basics of stop-motion animation, the fundamentals of Risograph printing, and how to leverage its distinctive features—such as overprinting, textures, and misregistrations—to create animations with a nostalgic, artisanal, and underground aesthetic.

Techniques
Risograph applied to animation. The printed images will be designed as sequences to be flipped through and brought to life by creating a mini flip book, with the possibility of later transforming them into a short digital animation as well.

English, with Italian translation if needed.

Required skills
A basic understanding of Photoshop is recommended; no specific experience is required, but curiosity and a willingness to experiment are encouraged.
