HGK BASEL: A SPACE OF IMAGINATION // Erica David
Descrizione progetto
The animation was designed as part of the annual identity campaign commissioned by the Basel School of Design HGK BASEL. The campaign aims to attract and inspire prospective students while visually embodying the school’s spirit of experimentation and creative exploration
Concept:
The animations were digitally created, blending archival photography and AI-generated imagery. They are animated versions of the poster, adding depth to the narrative and adapting across multiple formats (social media, vertical screens, web teasers, and ceremony backdrops). Archival photographs of the Basel School of Design’s brutalist architecture were processed using AI tools like MidJourney to generate surreal reinterpretations while preserving a sense of familiarity. These compositions were further refined and animated with Runway. The project explores the transformation of space through the intersection of AI, imagination, and design, offering an evolving visual identity that reflects the school’s experimental spirit.
