When a tiny motor meets paper, something big comes alive!
CartElettra is an activity born from the collaboration between FabLab for Kids and Print Club Torino, where design meets making, graphic design becomes DIY and paper makes friends with circuits. It’s an experiment that connects papercraft and electronics, using just few ingredients: a USB vibrant motor, some magnets, and plenty of paper. The first CartElettra kit comes with the package: you just need to add a bit of manual skills and all the fantasy you have!

We’ll craft lots of customizable subjects through printing, laser cutting, folding, gluing and combining papercraft modules.
Texture, colors and paper weights: you’ll have different kinds of paper at your disposal in order to craft your character. He’s going to come to life thanks to a tiny motor that we’ll install into it; you’ll just need to charge it and then it’s going to dance, run and dash!

In the context of Torino Graphic Days, we’ll try to get kids to approach the Visual Design world through colors and his expressive potential. Each chroma can express different emotion: for example, red can remind you of anger or passion. Choose your favourite color and craft your character!

At the end of the workshop you’ll be able to purchase another CartElettra kit, in order to keep playing and creating at home.

AGE: 6 to 12 years old.
Small kids are allowed to participate with the help of an adult or an older brother/sister.
