Words, gentle humor, without frills communication and people are at the center of Burrill’s study and messages of optimism. His works are part of the permanent collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York and have been exhibited in galleries around the world, including the Barbican Art Gallery, the Walker Art Center and the Design Museum in London.

The IO & TE exhibition offers an overview of the visual production of Anthony Burrill, internationally renowned designer and graphic artist, who lives and works on the island of Oxney, in Kent. The exhibition, showed for the first time in Italy, presents his works made in the last three decades of his career, retracing, alongside the more famous collections, his training as a student up to the most recent and never seen before works of him.

Known for his persuasive and optimistic communication style, his messages have become a mantra for the design community and beyond. Typographic posters, silk-screen prints, but also objects selected from his collection of graphic ephemera therefore offer the viewer an immersive journey into the studio and creative process of this iconic artist.

In addition to the exhibition, Anthony Burrill took part in the inaugural weekend of the festival, speaking in the Design Talk on Saturday May 6 at 5 pm and leading the “Made by hand” workshop on Sunday May 7. Furthermore, the artist took part in a live print session together with the Print Club Torino.
