Festival

Graphic Days® is a festival dedicated to Italian and international visual design. Since 2016, it has involved artists, professionals, and studios from around the world.

The tenth edition of the festival took place from May 8 to 18, 2025, at Vitali Park—a space usually intended for business use, which hosted a cultural event for the first time. The program included 14 exhibitions, 10 talks, 9 workshops and masterclasses for adults, 8 workshops and guided tours for children, performances, music events, a design market, a live printing area, and much more.

On May 9 and 16, the In the city schedule brought the festival into the urban space: 31 local design studios opened their doors to the public with exhibitions, talks, and events focused on visual arts and creative cross-pollination.

The Theme

love, now! is an invitation to hospitality, tolerance, and openness toward differences.

In response to the many forms of social, political, and cultural violence and the exclusion of diversity characterizing our time, the festival promotes a positive message, emphasizing the various ways these themes can be addressed.

The concept of “love” is explored in its many meanings and nuances—as a feeling of closeness, a facilitator of interpersonal relationships, and a promoter of dialogue and encounter among people, cultures, and the environment.

The word “Now” highlights the urgency for action, reminding everyone that these topics can no longer be postponed.

To celebrate its tenth edition, the festival offered a rich lineup of talks with 8 Design Talks totaling 24 speeches from guests across Europe.

For the first time, the festival hosted a two-day masterclass led by Spanish artists Isidro Ferrer and Pep Carrió, alongside a comprehensive workshop program featuring Studio Dumbar, FF3300, Tina Touli and Cookie Studio, The Rodina, Zinek, Baltan Laboratories, and Print Club Torino.

A regular feature of the festival, the Neologia award ceremony involved emerging designers selected through a visual experimentation call, fostering a collective reflection on the social role of design with contributions from Scomodo, an independent magazine.

During the opening event, 10 artists live-painted panels on the exhibition access walkway, which became part of the exhibition route: Alice Serafino, Camilla Zaggia, Chiara Morra, Francesco Pavignano, Hikimi, Mara Pidello, Vërnis, MyPosterSucks / Gianluca Cannizzo, Tino, and Valentina Bongiovanni.

The courtyard featured multimedia performances by Taxi 42 and Baci Spaziali and an installation by John Blonde presented during the second weekend.

Among this year’s highlights: a new children’s program included exhibition tours with creative activities, while weekday school programming expanded with guided tours, workshops, portfolio reviews, and talks, reaching over 1,000 students from high schools and universities.

Talks, workshops, exhibitions, performances, and activities for schools and families explored the various meanings and nuances of “love” as a feeling of closeness, a vehicle for dialogue and encounter between people, cultures, and the environment, from May 8 to 18, 2025, at Vitali Park in Turin.

The exhibition path, consisting of 14 exhibitions, confirmed its international scope with contributions from Spain—featuring Isidro Ferrer and Pep Carrió together in Italy for the first time—to the Netherlands, with Tereza Ruller (The Rodina) and Studio Dumbar’s Demo Festival, Bulgaria with Melba Design Festival, and Finland, the focus of this edition’s “Eyes On” spotlight.

Recurring formats returned, such as We mix design and people, dedicated to social design, and Neologia, showcasing 100 projects in posters, editorial, and motion graphics from young designers under 30.

Love Letters

An immersive and interactive space filled with love messages—a collective yet intimate place where emotions, thoughts, and words interweave in suspended time. Visitors can interact with the installation by writing their own “letter” and reading messages left by others, engaging in a colorful, evolving dialogue. Developed by Quattrolinee and Codesome, Love Letters explores the relationship between people and their environment, encouraging new forms of sharing.

love, now! The way of love

This exhibition brings together diverse voices and identities through works of visual design spanning editorials, fanzines, illustrations, videos, and even sex toys. It explores different aspects of love: self-love, love for others, and for nature. It presents a collective exploration of love, eroticism, care, and affection through the powerful and nuanced lens of graphic communication. The exhibition includes the installation Le vie dell’amore sono infinite (“The Paths of Love Are Infinite”)—an abstract representation of love using geometric shapes and symbols to depict a plural vision embracing the many directions feelings can take.

DEMO – Design in Motion Festival

Graphic Days® hosted the Dutch format DEMO Design in Motion Festival, promoted by Studio Dumbar. DEMO presents the world’s best motion design on public outdoor screens. First launched in 2019, it quickly became one of the most striking showcases of motion design, turning Amsterdam Central Station’s screens into a 24-hour open-air exhibition.

Dear Love,…

The project explores how design can express affection and care, questioning what would happen if love were at the heart of design methods and how the message of a love letter could be shared with the world. In the site-specific intervention by Tereza Ruller, founder of The Rodina studio, graphic design, as a mediator of emotions, can become a practice that spreads love, connecting us to each other, to other species, and even to inanimate matter.

Do Not Disturb & Accessible Complexity

Part of the exhibition path, Do Not Disturb—co-curated by Paolo Berra and Beatrice Vallorani—showcases hotel door hangers from around the world collected by Edoardo Flores, reflecting global visual culture and imagination. Accessible Complexity, a new Graphic Days® project in collaboration with SYS – Systemic Design Lab at Politecnico di Torino, highlights academic research from global universities, demonstrating how visual design can transform complex information into clear, accessible messages—fostering knowledge democratization and interdisciplinary dialogue.

Live Painting & Performances

At the festival’s opening, 10 artists painted 10 panels live on the balcony leading to the exhibitions, which then became an integral part of the exhibition itinerary: Alice Serafino, Camilla Zaggia, Chiara Morra, Francesco Pavignano, Hikimi, Mara Pidello, Vërnis, MyPosterSucks / Gianluca Cannizzo, Tino, and Valentina Bongiovanni.

The courtyard was enlivened by various musical video performances with Taxi 42 and Baci Spaziali, by John Blonde’s installation created during the second weekend, and by the exhibition of the winning projects from the latest edition of the Posterheroes call.

The festival hosted 8 Design Talks, featuring 24 speakers from across Europe: Baltan Laboratories, Balmer Hälen, Camuffo Lab, Cookie Studio, DIA Studio, Dumbar, DueStudio, FF3300, Giga Studio, Illo, Isidro Ferrer, La Tigre, Marta Cerdà, Pep Carrió, R2, Silvio Lorusso, Studio Komplekt, Studio Mistaker, Studio Mut, The Rodina, Tina Touli, Tomi Leppänen, Unstated, and Zinek.

The fifth edition of the Neologia call included an award ceremony with special prizes and a conference on “Communication Design” in collaboration with the Italian Design Society (SID).

Throughout the week, talks targeted at high school students were held by agencies like IKIGAI MEDIA, Bianco Tangerine, Fine Production, Hello Barrio, AdHoc studio, and Falcone Studio.

Brief me up vol V – Apocalypse

Graphic Days® hosted a special edition of the graphic design “Masterchef,” organized by IKIGAI MEDIA. Twelve communication agencies split into four teams competed to create a logo based on a surprise brief in just one hour—amid distractions like spring cleaning, team swaps, and sudden brief revisions.

Participants included: Bianco Tangerine, Curve Studio, Eggers, Hello Tomorrow, Hellobarrio, Herman Studio, IKIGAI MEDIA, Quattrolinee, Senza Futuro Studio, Sixeleven, Truly Design Studio, and Undesign.

 

For the first time, the festival featured a two-day masterclass with Spanish artists Isidro Ferrer and Pep Carrió, alongside workshops by Studio Dumbar, FF3300, Tina Touli, Cookie Studio, The Rodina, Zinek, Baltan Laboratories, and Print Club Torino.

During the week, the Print Club organized screen printing and risograph workshops for secondary school students visiting the festival.

The live printing area, which was always open within the exhibition space, allowed visitors of all ages to try out some printing techniques.

Within the festival grounds, the kids’ area was open to everyone to freely experiment with creativity. Over the weekend, it hosted 8 workshops attended by 120 children, who were enriched by a tour of the exhibitions to help them explore the contents on display through fun creative activities.

On Thursday, May 15, the courtyard of Vitali Park hosted the bibliobus, the City of Turin’s mobile library service.

During the festival’s first weekend, a market fair in the courtyard showcased visual arts from: Annamaria Ferrero, ASCOLTOUNPODITUTTO, BOLO Paper, Bottega Fagnola, Chiara Allione, Colorobe, Damiano Boldrini, Elena Fonti, Federica Tumminello, Fertik, FUORI FORMATO, Giulia Drogo, ITALIA90, Lorenzo Ciuffatelli, Marna, Martina Viggiani & Martina Cerrato, Morsi Editore, OCHO Collective, Omar Edous, Rekles, Truly Design & Ceramiche Musso, Ultraleggeri, Good habits 3D printed, and Vittoria Zorzi.

The In the city calendar included 31 events across two evenings—May 9 and 16—curated by local design studios, offering a genuine opportunity to engage with Turin’s creative scene.

To conclude, Sixeleven hosted a closing event at their studio on May 16: Let’s Play, a graphic design quiz combining serious questions and humorous statements about design and internet culture. Participants competed for agency-designed prizes and exclusive Graphic Days gifts.
