Social Design

punto quadro is a cultural upcycling project arising from the meeting with the Extralibri Cooperative, to develop new skills that produce value and quality by transforming disused materials into a project.

Thanks to the work of the inmates of the Lorusso and Cutugno prison in Turin, the communication media of past editions of our festival have come back to life in the form of a product.

The expression “punto quadro” is borrowed from sartorial language and indicates a specific stitch used for hemming.

The two words “punto” (stitch) and “quadro” (square) recall the purpose of visual design at the center of Graphic Days® and summarize the actions of dissemination through exhibition initiatives.

The use of the stitch on the borders of cloth symbolically recalls the marginality that characterizes life in the prison, which the project wishes to overcome.
